انتهاك وطن

صدق القائل: احذر عدوك مرة واحذر صديقك الف مرة، فلربما انقلب الصديق فكان أعلم بالمضرة

إن حب الوطن والولاء له شيء فطره الله في قلب كل انسان، فماذا يكون موقف الواحد منا اذا استيقظ من نومه في الساعات المتأخرة من الليل على أصوات الدبابات والآليات العسكرية المفزعة! هكذا كان حال كل المواطنين والمقيمين على ارض الكويت الحبيبه في فجر يوم الخميس الموافق 2\8\1990، عندما اجتاحت القوات العراقيه أرض الكويت لاغية كل الاعراف والقيم الانسانيه والعلاقات الاخويه والقوميه والدينية، مستبيحة المال والدم والعرض لكل المقيمين على أرض الكويت

أثناء المحنة

والتخريب والتعدي ياله من كابوس مفزع استمر أشهرا سبعة ذاق فيها اهل الكويت مرارة التعذيب على الكرامة الإنسانية والسرقات التي قام بها جنود الطاغيه صدام، والأفظع والأمرّ من ذلك محاولاتهم التي باءت بالفشل لطمس الهوية الكويتية واستبدالها بالعراقية، فقام ابناء الشعب الكويتي الصابر على بلواه بالتصدي لهذه التعديات عبر إبراز العصيان المدني وعدم الاستجابة لمتطلبات العدو المحتل، ووقف ابناء الشعب الكويتي بمختلف أطيافه و فئاته بوجهه العدو المعتدي،  فمنهم من أُسر ومنهم من استُشهد في سبيل هذا الوطن الغالي، فهكذا كان الحال خلال الغزو العراقي الغاشم لدولة الكويت على أيدي المقبور رئيس الجمهورية العراقيه السابق صدام حسين، حينما غدر بجاره ونكر الجميل و جميع المساعدات التي كانت تقدمها دولة الكويت له للشعب العراقي خلال حرب الخليج الاولى، والتي استمرت لثمانيه سنوات منذ عام 1980 وحتى عام 1988 ولولاها لكان من الإنصاف القول بأن الاقتصاد العراقي كان سينهار برمته جراء الحرب العراقية – الإيرانية

الأهل والأصدقاء

عندما أيقنت دول العالم الصادقة بعدالة القضية الكويتية، وعندما اتضح للجميع ان النظام العراقي لا يريد الانسحاب السلمي من أرض الكويت، صدر قرار الأمم المتحدة رقم 678 من مجلس الأمن الذي يتيح تحرير الكويت بكل الوسائل، مشرّعا  لللتحالف الدولي الذي يتألف من 32 دولة استخدام القوة الضرورية لتحرير الكويت، فتم بمشيئة الله التحرير بعد شن الهجوم الجوي الاول في يناير 1991، وتبع هذا الهجوم التدخل البري في 24 فبراير، إلى أن انتهت العملية بتحرير كافة التراب الكويتي من الاحتلال في 26 فبراير 1991

فشكرا لجميع الاخوة و الاشقاء على مساندتهم لنا و مؤازرتنا في محنتنا و الشكر موصول ايضا للملكة العربية السعودية وسائر دول الخليج العربي والدول العربية لاستضافتهم أبناء الشعب الكويتي ونصرتهم لقضيتنا العادلة، كذلك الشكر واجب للدول الغربية الصديقة، وللولايات المتحدة الأميركيه على قيادتها للعملية العسكرية التي مثلت بفضل الله سببا رئيسيا لتحريرنا من براثن العدو

A Day of Commemoration

            Smiles on every Kuwaiti’s face. Buildings decorated with nothing but the Kuwaiti flag.  The colors red, green, black, and white are ubiquitously representing great nationalism throughout the country.  Programs on the radio and television filled with Kuwaiti customs. This in fact, is a special day filled with joy and happiness that allows many Kuwaitis around the world to unite with one another.  Ever since 1991, on the 26^th of February, the citizens of Kuwait take part in celebrating this day, as they reminiscence through their independence from Iraq and the day Kuwait established itself as a sovereign nation.

            Even though, this day is mixed with a touch of sorrow, Kuwait optimistically manages to honor its martyrs who lost their lives fighting for their country against the Iraqi oppression and the 605 Prisoners of War that are still held captive in Iraqi jails.       

            February 26, 1991 marked a new beginning for the Kuwaiti’s as they condone their problems and unify together to celebrate this day with nothing but pride and gratification, while they gather around their family and friends.  To further acknowledge their pride, people dress with the national attire as they drive across the country spraying foam on one another through the form of parades and parties expressing their excitement for this specific day.  The cheerful crowds wave Kuwaiti Flags high up in the air as the colorful fireworks light up the sky.  It is because of the strong patriotic momentum and the positive attitude between the people that anticipates Kuwaiti’s around the world to take part of this day special.  Portraying companionship in unison, both young and old people take part of this enjoyable celebration in such a motivated way with people we haven’t met before, and further strengthening the nation together as a whole.

            After a day of looking back at the past, the nation turns its hopes to the future. Though memories of the Gulf War are gradually fading, the Iraqi Invasion still marks an eventful period in our country’s history.  Nevertheless on February 26, the entire country unites to both honor our victims and to celebrate our freedom from Iraq.  Liberation Day, gives us a chance to pause and reflect on our values, ideals of freedom, nationalism, and patriotism. This day is an honor to all Kuwaiti victims of the Gulf War who put their country before their own interests.  The significance of the Liberation Day holiday is a joyful celebration; it has become a day in which the country joins to reflect on freedom and pride.  In marking the country's liberation from oppression 17 years ago, we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy today and praise the martyrs for their brave commitment, and that's what makes participating in this day so important to many Kuwaiti’s around the world.

A day of commemoration is what is today.
